Tottori Maru Class -- The Hellship Tottori Maru and its sister ship, Tokushima Maru were built in Glasgow, Scotland in 1913 - 1914. These 6,057 Gross Ton ships were 423 feet long, 56 feet in breadth and capable of speeds of 10 knots.

HOW_WRECK_SUNK:

torpedoed by US Submarine,USS Hammehead 1944. 1 torpedo mid ships and one in bow which tore it halfway off

WRECK_DOING_WHAT:

transporting war supplies. This vessel was also a well known 'Hell Ship' used for carrying allied POW's, though non was on board when she was sank.
