USS Lagarto - New findings and report from US Navy sanctioned external survey

In August 2005 Koh Tao divers Jamie Macleod, Stewart Oehl and the divers and crew of the M.V. Trident carried out a series of 230ft deep dives that accomplished the positive identification of a missing American submarine, now known to be the USS Lagarto. New evidence discovered during the survey revealed that the USS Lagarto went down fighting. A full dive report detailing the techniques used, and a summary of all known historical data related to the sinking are presented.

World record deep dives made using new decompression technique

A new decompression diving technique based on the Combined Decompression Model CDM-18 that provides the knowledge base used by two previous world record breaking deep divers is made available to the diving public. A spreadsheet implementation of the CDM-18 model analyzes any dive profile and breathing gas combination for correct decompression methodology, clearly identifying any profile abnormality or breathing gas change that would likely cause DCS

Car Ferry sinks near Phuket in Southern Thailand

The King Cruiser sank while apparently miles off course after striking the popular Phuket dive site Anemone reef on it's way to Koh Phi-Phi from Phuket. So far was the vessel off course, and so in need of a decent wreck diving site was Phuket, that local diver joked that the captain took a massive bribe to slam the vessel into the reef. As seen by the picture above, no one got hurt during the sinking apart from the insurers.
